Diamond is an extremely rare mineral resource in nature. There are two kinds of diamonds. One is the primary ore, mining directly in the origin of the original stone. The other is sand ore, we can sieve the diamond which was washed by water like gold mining. Diamond mining process is generally divided into two steps. Rough mining process is mainly gravity concentration, As for concentration mining process, the methods and equipment can be chosen according to the selection of the specific nature and characteristics of the diamond. Diamond densityis 3.5- 3.52, bigger than normal gravel. So for both sand ore and primary ore, diamonds can be extracted from ore by gravity concentration method. Since jigger is easy to operate and with high efficiency and recovery rate which is 97%-100%. So it has become the ideal roughing device. Besides, jigger is an automated mechanical processing equipment. It can achieve large scale production of high efficiency,which is suitable for sand ore and primary ore with few diamond. the main role of jigger in the diamond mining process is rough concentrating to remove a large quantity of abandoned. waste rock and sand, then enter the selection process, which can ensure the diamond concentrating recovery, but also can greatly improve the efficiency of mineral processing. During the jigger running, the ore will form a dense layer on the sieve bed, and the up and down alternating water is supplied periodically from the bottom to the sieve board. When the water rises, the bed is raised and become looser. The heavy mineral particles move down. When the water goes down, the loose situation decreases. The movement of heavy materials is more difficult and the layer is tighter and tighter.Only the tiny material goes down through the interval. When the water stopsgoing down, so does the layer motion. Then the next period goes on. The process repeats and finally the dense materials go to the bottom layer, while the light to the upper layer. there are many ways to keep the water moving. The reciprocating motion of rubber diaphragm is driven by the eccentric rod, thusthe watermoves up and down in the jigger cabin. So this type of jigger is called diaphragm jigger. In Jigger separating tank, big density diamonds and small density waste rock are separated. The fine ore will go into concentrating selection process. Concentrating selection of diamonds can choose grease surface separator, X-ray sorting machines and other concentrating equipment. Mineral sand after washing and screening enters into the jig concentrating process during diamond mineral processing, the concentrating ore goes into the concentrating selection process to obtain the diamonds finally. In a word, the diamond mineral processing is not simple, it doesn't mean one jigger or grease surface separator can finish, in fact, jigger does the rough mining work in diamond mining period and it has a lot of requirements for roughly mining, such as the bed material, specific gravity, thickness, screen size, etc. One jigger is unable to finish rough concentrating, it must be accompanied by precisetechnology.
